Your privacy matters. This policy explains honestly what data Swiss Quiz 2 collects, why, and how it is protected.

Overview

Swiss Quiz 2 does not display ads, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or share your data with third parties. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.

Some features — statistics sync, Game Center, multiplayer challenges — involve data leaving your device. These are described in detail below.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data never leaves your device:

  • Quiz content: Questions, answers, and images are downloaded from our server and stored locally.

  • User preferences: Your language choice, favorite canton, sound and haptics settings etc.

Data Synced to iCloud (Optional)

If you are signed into iCloud, Swiss Quiz 2 stores your gameplay statistics in your private iCloud container. This includes:

  • Game session results (game mode, score, correct/wrong answers, duration)

  • Aggregate player statistics (total games played, streaks, etc.)

  • Unlocked achievements

This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot access your iCloud data. You can delete it at any time from Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage on your device.

iCloud sync is not required to use the app.

Data Sent to Our Server

Swiss Quiz 2 communicates with our server at `sq.firebitlabs.ch` for the following purposes:

Content Sync

When syncing quiz content, your selected language and a timestamp are sent to the server to fetch new or updated questions. No personal information is transmitted.

Device Authentication (App Attest)

To protect the integrity of our quiz content, the app uses Apple's App Attest framework to verify it is a legitimate, unmodified installation. A cryptographic key identifier — not your identity — is used for this. No personal data is involved.

Multiplayer Challenges

When you participate in a challenge:

  • The player name you set for challenges (chosen by you in Settings), your answers (recorded as correct or incorrect), and start/finish timestamps are transmitted.

  • Challenge data is stored on our server for 30 days, then automatically deleted.

Question Submissions (Optional)

If you submit a question suggestion, the following is sent:

  • Your question text and proposed answers

  • Optionally, your name and email address if you wish to be notified about the submission status

Question Reports (Optional)

If you report a question, the following is sent:

  • The report type and an optional comment

  • Optionally, your name and email address if you wish to receive a response

No Account Required

You do not need to create an account to use the app. Game Center and iCloud require an Apple ID, which is managed by Apple.

No Advertising or Tracking

This app contains no advertising, no cross-app tracking, and no user profiling. We do not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.

Your Rights

  • Access: You can view your gameplay statistics within the app.

  • Deletion (iCloud): Delete your statistics by removing the app's iCloud storage from your device's iCloud settings.

    • Deletion (challenges): Challenge records on our server expire automatically after 30 days.

  • Deletion (submissions): Contact us to request removal of any submitted question or report.

  • Opt-out (Game Center): Disable Game Center in the app's Settings.
